Abhishek is a medical doctor by training with many years of clinical and managerial experience in both the government and corporate led initiatives. He is a graduate of Armed Forces Medical College and Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, both premier schools of India. He also holds a PhD in marketing from NTU and is associated with ACI as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.
His research interests’ lie in multi-sensory integration, studying subconscious minds of consumers using neuro-scientific tools, applied linguistics in marketing and sound symbolism.
Dr. Mukherjee joined ACI as a Research Fellow in October 2015. Her research interests focus around international retail development in emerging markets and she adopts the scenario planning methodology in researching the future of retail development in emerging markets. She is also holds a Research post within Said Business School, University of Oxford. Her work has been published in Asia pacific business review, Futures and International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research. She is editor of the book ‘Retailing in emerging markets: A policy and strategy perspective’ and has written op-eds for Times of India and Indian Express. She has experience in working with retailers such as John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and global companies such as AMDOCS in her capacity as a researcher and consultant.
Dr. Mukherjee completed her doctorate from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester in 2006. She has an MBA from the University of Leeds and a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Presidency College, University of Calcutta, India.
Natalie Truong is a Research Associate within ACI.
She is in the process of obtaining her PhD from the Norwegian School of Economics. Her research area is consumer behavior, with a focus on beauty perception among Asian consumers. Her research interests lie in the psychological processes that underlie the way consumers define beauty.
Emma joined ACI as a Research Associate in December 2016. Prior to joining ACI, she worked at NTU with another research team that primarily involved in the research related to industrial/organisational behaviours.
She received her master’s degree in Psychology at University of Plymouth, UK. Her research interests lie in the field of applied psychology and in using quantitative multivariate research methods (e.g., psychometrics, structural equation modeling, and time series analysis) to understand how a range of external v.s. internal factors affect people’s attitudes, values, beliefs, behaviours, and actions.
Koh Juan Zhen
Juan Zhen is a Research Assistant at ACI. Her research interests lie in the area of consumer behaviour and how emotions and subconscious mental processing influence decision-making.
Prior to joining ACI, Juan Zhen was a Management Associate graduate and an Assistant Manager in Marketing and Business Development at Sentosa Development Corporation and its subsidiaries. She worked with key stakeholders and led various integrated marketing campaigns, e-commerce enhancements and partnership initiatives to drive reach and sales.
Jaeden is a Research Assistant working under Associate Professor May Lwin on the ACI-funded project “Future Health in Asia: A Multi-country Study of Health Information and Health Benefit Seeking Behaviours.”
He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Psychology) in 2014.
Thevagi is in-charge of the administrative role in supporting the research team at ACI. She is responsible to ensure that Professors’ requirements are met in order for a smooth completion of their projects.
She graduated from the University of London with a Degree in Accounting and Finance. Prior to joining ACI, she has worked in OCBC and Central Provident Fund, assisting the finance department.
