2012 ACP Academic Conference

The Society of Consumer Psychology (SCP), in partnership with ACI, held the event on 19-21 December 2012 in Singapore. It was the first ever ACP conference which was held in Asia.

The theme of the conference was “The Asian Consumer.” Attended by about a hundred academics from all over the world, as well as several industry participants, the conference served as an international forum, assessing the relevance of consumer psychology models for understanding the Asian consumer, and conversely, to explore new contributions to consumer psychology based on Asian consumer insight.

The conference not only saw a variety of presentations and discussions, other conference highlights included a tour of the state-of-the-art psychophysiology labs at NTU, as well as a number of optional consumer-experience tours on the final day of the conference to foster Asian-consumer immersion. Participants got a choice of either the retail, culture or wellness-and-lifestyle tour. That was not all, participants also got to watch the Wonder Full laser show by Marina Bay Sands and also have dinner at the oldest hawker centre in Singapore, the Lau Pa Sat.
